Emraan Hashmi drops major update on Awarapan 2: 'It's got crazy music and intense scenes'

Awarapan 2 is one of the most-awaited sequels among fans. Emraan Hashmi, who is gearing up for the release of a courtroom drama, Haq, has shared some interesting updates on Awarapan 2. He said that the sequel doesn’t just do it to capitalise on Awarapan or its cult following.

Speaking to Times Now, Emraan Hashmi said that he will soon begin shooting for Awarapan 2. He said, "I think I’ll be shooting for it. I’m going to shoot again next month. And yeah, it’s shot some really intense scenes. It’s got crazy music, it’s got fantastic, intense scenes. I’m not telling you anything right now, you’ll discover it when you see the film."

Emraan also shared that Awarapan has been in discussion for almost six years. There was a conversation earlier, during pre-COVID.

'I said, 'How can you bring back Shivam?' The finality of the film was where he apparently dies. So there have been ideas and I think we cracked something really good in 2022, when my friend Bilal came with the script, which fits it to the T and takes that brand ahead," he shared.

Highlighting the importance of a sequel, Hashmi said that the sequel doesn’t just do it to capitalise on Awarapan or its cult following, which it has, by the way. He said that Awarapan has had a visceral, profound reaction from the audience and a fan following that has grown over the years, almost eight years. "People even have Awarapan tattoos on their arms and all that," he said.
