K-Pop Demon Hunters is about a K-pop girl group, HUNTR/X, who are secretly demon hunters. The girl group consisting of Rumi, Mira, and Zoey use their music and performances to power the Honmoon, a magical barrier that keeps demons at bay.

Meanwhile, Rumi is a cambion (half-human, half-demon) who fears that her demonic side is growing stronger, as evidenced by the marks that have spread across her skin, gradually. She believes creating the "Golden Honmoon" will cure her and push the demons away permanently.

However, the demon king Gwi-Ma creates a rival K-pop boy band, the Saja Boys, led by the demon Jinu. Their main aim is to steal HUNTR/X's fans and weaken the Honmoon. Jinu was a human who made a deal with Gwi-Ma to become a demon in exchange for having his human memories erased.

As the Saja Boys gain popularity, Hanmoon becomes weak, and Gwi-ma begins to enter the human world. Rumi loses her voice, but after a confrontation with Jinu, she learns to accept her demonic half by singing a new song. This restores her voice, leading to breaking Gwi-Ma's trance placed on the public, and helps HUNTR/X defeat the Saja Boys and re-capture the demons to save the humanity.
