His prowess in martial arts in addition to his script choices helped him win many fans. He owes a part of his success to comedian Vadivelu, with whom he has acted in several projects. Their comic timing and chemistry salvaged many mediocre films.

In Gentleman, which completes 28 years of its release today, Arjun’s verbal duels with Goundamani, who plays his best friend Mani, made for interesting viewing. OTTplay takes you through a few movies of Arjun Sarja if you loved watching Gentleman.

After his tryst as an action star during the 2000s, Arjun began doing a variety of roles. This Mani Ratnam-directorial gave a new direction to his career. Kadal had Arjun play Bergmans, a ruthless and demonic villain who stops at nothing. He has a long-standing rivalry with Sam Fernando (Arvind Swamy) and tarnishes the latter’s name as a priest. Bergmans refers to himself as ‘Satan’ in the movie and showcases a performance worthy of the name.
