This time, he does not give up and moves from pillar to post to win Ginny’s hand in marriage, taking timely inputs from her mother.
Chhapaak: This Meghna Gulzaar directorial has Malti played by Deepika Padukone, and how she braves an acid attack and transforms into an activist championing the cause of acid-attack survivors. Malti finds a friend and companion in Amol Dwivedi played by Vikrant Massey, the founder of the foundation of acid attack survivors. Vikrant Massey delivers an understated, nuanced performance, fighting a tough battle against the patriarchal menace in India.
Cargo: This imaginative sci-fi fantasy features Vikrant Massey and Shweta Tripathi in the lead roles. In a spaceship named Pushpak 634A, the demon Prahastha played by Vikrant Massey is an employee of the Post Death Transition Services. He works along with a female astronaut Yuvishka Shehar played by Shweta Tripathi to recycle dead people for rebirth. The offbeat film blends concepts of rebirth with science fiction. Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi: Following the untimely death of Ramprasad (Naseeruddin Shah), all members of his bereaved family gather at his ancestral home in Lucknow where they are to live together for 13 days to observe tehrvi. Vikrant Massey plays Rahul, one of the grandsons of Ramprasad in this drama featuring an ensemble cast, that brings to fore the complexities, politics, insecurities of the family.
Half Full: This critically-acclaimed 12-minute short film stars Vikrant Massey as a young man going through inner turmoil, so much so that he decides to end his life. While he is about to jump, he meets an interesting old man (Naseeruddin Shah). The chance meeting leads to a conversation that sparks many questions and ponderings. Written and directed by Reema Sengupta, the film was declared the winner of ShortsTV’s Best of India Short Film Festival 2019.
