The sudden onset of the COVID-19 pandemic has forced us all to stay indoors. It has ruined our travel plans for two years. Even though travel restrictions are now gradually clearing, it may not be safe to go on an excursion especially, on the brink of the third wave of the pandemic. However, we can quench our thirst for travel, watching documentaries and series that not only show industry trends but can also give us ideas for destinations to explore once our lives get back to normal.

The Emmy award-winning series Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations is an American travel and food show hosted by the celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain. The show chronicles his travel and food experiences in various countries and cities and places in the US where he explores local cuisines and culture. The series has nine seasons with episodes that run for almost an hour. Several celebrities have appeared on the show including Bill Murray, Sean Penn and Michael K. Williams.

Aerial America
Narrated by Jim Conrad and produced by Toby Beach, Aerial America offers rare views of some of the landmarks of the coutry from the sky. The show captures the history of the country as the shots focus on the busy cityscapes and rural lands. While some of the episodes focus on the beautiful picturesque of the country, others highlight the best small towns and natural wonders that one can explore. So take off on a flight to witness some breathtaking views of the country and learn something new about its history and culture.

An Idiot Abroad
The British travel comedy series, An Idiot Abroad is created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant of The Office fame. It stars Karl Pilkington who shows no interest in global travel but is forced to go on an expedition by Gervais and Merchant. The duo documents his travel experiences while they stay in the UK and keep a check on his progress. The show has three seasons with a total of 19 episodes that are directed by Richard Yee, Krishnendu Majumdar, Jamie Jay Johnson, Benjamin Green and Luke Campbell.
