Filmmaker and writer Mitakshara Kumar has made her directorial debut with the OTT series The Empire which is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. After pursuing direction from the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune (FTII), Mitakshara worked with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for over six years. She was also the associate director of Padmaavat which featured Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in the lead roles.
