Minnal Murali
"The last film that I watched is Minnal Murali. I think you should watch it," says the actor about Mollywood's first superhero movie. Starring Tovino Thomas, Shelly Nabu Kumar, Femina George and Guru Somasundaram, the film revolves around two villagers who gain immense superpower after getting struck by lightning. While one uses to his selfish advantage, the other to become the saviour of his village. The film is directed by Basil Joseph and has been trending as one of the top Non-English content on Netflix since its release. The film is being appreciated not only for performances but also its characterisation, story, comedy and visual effects.
Directed by Omung Kumar, the biographical drama film is about Sarabjit Singh, who was convicted for terrorism and sentenced to death by the Supreme Court of Pakistan. He spent 22 years in prison in Pakistan for his alleged role in terrorism and spying. The film features Randeep Hooda in the titular role of Sarbjit. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Richa Chadda and Darshan Kumar also play important roles in the movie. The film premiered at the 69th Cannes Film Festival.
The Mardaani actor recommends this Sanjay Mishra's film to all, especially his colleagues in the industry. "Very few people might have seen this film. It is a definite watch. I would like to recommend this film especially to other actors in the industry," he says. The film stars Sanjay Mishra and Deepak Dobriyal with Isha Talwar, Nasirr Khan and Sarika Singh in supporting roles. The film follows the story of an actor who plays supporting roles in films. A washed-up talent tries to make a comeback with an amazing role so that he can complete the record of acting in 500 films. The film received positive reviews from fans and critics alike but could not do well commercially at the box office due to theatres shutting down, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film is now available to watch on Netflix.
The actor also recommends fans to watch his upcoming series Human. Directed by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and Mozez Singh, the series is based on unethical human drug testing. It revolves around the ambitious Dr. Gauri Nath, one of the country’s top neurosurgeons, played by Shefali Shah and her protege, Dr. Saira Sabjawal whose lives go upside down after a shocking discovery. The series talks about the collateral damage caused due to fast-tracked drug trials for financial gains in a gripping tale that spins around innocent lives being lost to greed. The stories revolve around the value of human life, medical malpractice, class divide, and the fatal ramifications of fast-paced medical science.
