Bharatham is one of the many movies which has Nedumudi along with Mohanlal. The movie, written by Lohithadas and directed by Sibi Malayil, tells the tale of two brothers, both gifted with a magical control in classical music. With Nedumudi playing Kalloor "Raman" Ramanathan, the elder brother who soon turns into a jealous tragic mess, this is a role that truly captures the thespians acting prowess.

Directed by Priyadarshan, this is an evergreen classic that still holds strong with the fans. Telling the story of two friends and their travels and adventures, all set in a beautiful scenic village. Nedumudi plays Sreekrishnan, who unknowingly falls in love with Karthumbi (Shobana), a woman in love with his best friend Manikyan (Mohanlal). Sreekrishnan makes the audience love him, hate him and everything in between.

Yet another timeless classic, the movie is directed by Priyadarshan. Nedumudi plays the role of Kaimal, a man who looks out for the best interests of his best friend and his daughter, Kalyani (Ranjini). He works with Kalyani to find a con-man and thief (Mohanlal) to pose as her husband to please his best friend, who is coming to visit his hometown to spend time with his daughter. Nedumudi as Kaimal does a great job of making the audience laugh with his quick quirks, puns and often panic.

Thanmathra is a movie that is often used to showcase the acting talents of Mohanlal as Rameshan, the family man who loses grip over life following the effects of Alzheimer's disease. However, Nedumudi plays the role of Rameshan’s father, and does a phenomenal job. Another example of the actor’s immense ability to portray any character, Nedumudi breaks the audience's heart multiple times with his resounding performance.

One of Nedumudi’s finest acting performances, the actor also won the Kerala State Film Award for his role as Ravunni Nair. Along with Sarada, the two play a elder married couple who are teachers but are childless. As a woman stays with them, they take care of her, only to lose her in childbirth. They take care of the child, until the child’s father returns and takes him away from the couple. The movie is heartbreaking and Nedumudi and Sarada deliver big time.
His Highness Abdullah

This musical drama from the Lohithadas-Sibi Malayil combo tells the tale of Abdullah (Mohanlal), who poses as Ananthan Namboothiri to infiltrate a rich Hindu family to kill its head following the orders of the rest of the family. Nedumudi essays the role of the kindly Udaya Varma Thampuran, the head of the family, who is grieving the loss of his only son. The touching movie features a raw and emotive performance by the star, and his chemistry with Mohanlal is definitely one of the film’s highlights.
