Nani's versatile roles in movies

Ghanta Naveen Babu AKA Nani is one of the few artists who doesn’t shy away from experimenting with new characters - be it a cricketer or an insect (literally). Apart from being a quintessential performer, he also has a keen eye for talent and launches them in the film industry. He has made his mark in the film industry over the years, with fans from all over the country. Fans were unable to ‘keep their calm’, when the new trailer of the much-awaited movie, Tuck Jagadish was released. There are just a few more days for the excruciating wait to end. Vinayaka Chavithi will be the day for Lord Vinayaka and the release of our beloved Nani’s Tuck Jagadish. In the meanwhile, let's grab a bowl of popcorn to binge-watch some of the career-defining movies of Nani, to charge ourselves up till Tuck arrives.

1
Gang Leader
7.5OTTplay Rating
An unusual role of Nani, as a copycat crime novelist, as the title suggests, we see him leading an unlikely gang of women ranging from elderly to tiny tots. There is no one scene from the movie that makes our eyes droop, for the movie is like a never-ending riot of laughter and thrills. His Sherlockian snooping accompanied by the assistance of the unlikely suicide squad keeps us glued to our seats from start to finish of the movie.
2
Bhale Bhale Magadivoy
7.4OTTplay Rating
The title of the movie practically shouts out to Nani by saying, ‘You are an interesting man’. The movie is an intriguing one that showcases a different angle to rom-com, where Nani tries to show himself as a perfectionist to woo his girl. You might require a towel to soak your pool of happy tears, as Nani does a phenomenal job of being the joker and makes everyone’s voices hoarse from laughter. He even practised and nailed his minute facial expressions to justify his role as a boyfriend.
3
V
6.7OTTplay Rating
If you are looking for a nail-biting Nani’s film that will keep you at the edge of your seat, then V is the movie for you. It is considered to be a special movie for the actor as it is his 25th one. We also see him don the antagonist hat for the first time in his filmography. This movie is proof that Nani can also pull off a bad boy role, not just heroic, quirky and romantic ones. The movie also stars Sudheer Babu, Nivetha Thomas and Aditi Rao Hydari in the lead roles.
4
Gentleman
6.9OTTplay Rating
Gentleman is a deadly combination of romance and thriller. This movie marked a dual role of Nani and his out-of-the-box acting accompanied by witty dialogue delivery and a myriad of facial expressions. His contrasting characters in the movie makes us wonder how the actor could change shoes within a fraction of a second.
5
Jersey
8.4OTTplay Rating
We have seen Nani as an action hero, chocolate boy, antagonist and in multiple other roles. In Jersey, we see him crank his acting skills up a notch and nail the role of a cricketer that portrays his versatility. The sports drama is a hard reality check and portrays the struggles a sportsman goes through to see the light of day. This movie checks all the boxes for a commercial entertainer. He breathed life into his character and portrayed it very realistically.
