A still from Squid Game | Netflix

Streaming platforms have pushed out web series by the dozen month after month this year too. But there are only a few titles that are worthy of recognition and adulation. Hence, We at OTTPlay have compiled a list of 21 web series that you should watch, and maybe even rewatch, ASAP:

Squid Game
8.2OTTplay Rating
If there's one South Korean drama that we would highly, highly recommend it's Squid Game. The show took the global audience by storm for a reason, and we would love for you to discover it too. Squid Game may seem like a survival drama on the surface, but underneath that are how the effects of late-stage capitalism force people to act in ways they usually never would.
7.6OTTplay Rating
Sushmita Sen returns as the fierce Aarya in the second instalment of the Hotstar Original, only to impress with her acting chops once again. But it's the script and direction that extracts the most out of her performance.
Mare of Easttown

Kate Winslet is a gem of an actor, and she is joined by a band of equally talented co-actors who are a part of an unassuming town hit by a gruesome crime. Entangled in her own problems, scrubbed thin to a point of cynicism, Mare Sheehan takes the gargantuan task of solving the disappearances and suspected death of young girls in her town.
8.1OTTplay Rating
D.P is another Korean drama that's worth a watch — it's about two men in the military police tasked with bringing back deserters fleeing conscription. The show takes its time to explore why these deserters escape compulsory military service, which makes the series compelling and heartbreaking at the same time.

Based on Isaac Asimov's novels of the same name, this Apple TV+ series follows a group of exiles who are on a quest to save humanity. Foundation is a visually arresting series that one should not miss out on.
Emily in Paris
7.2OTTplay Rating
Emily in Paris and its new season falls into the ambit of what Kyle Chayka of The New Yorker calls "ambient television", something you can pop in and out of without missing out on much. It's the perfect choice for a cheap getaway to Paris and wherever else the bubbly Emily's life takes her, and how her Midwest Americanness stand starkly in contrast to the French people she encounters. What's more to this show is her lurid fashion choice – some pieces you will surely want in your wardrobe while the others you wouldn't even touch with a ten-foot pole.
7.9OTTplay Rating
Raveena Tandon made her debut as a small-town cop who drops everything to solve the biggest case of her career – the murder of a foreign tourist, a young teenager. Though the story can be shaky at certain points, it's worth watching for Tandon, who appears in a whole new avatar.

The Family Man
9.2OTTplay Rating
Manoj Bajpayee reprises his role as Srikant Tiwari, who once again has to find a balance between his hectic job as an intelligence officer and his duties as a husband and father.
Sex Education
8.5OTTplay Rating
There is no better show that shatters all the awkwardness around sex-related questions than Sex Education. The third season hits the spot just like its first two predecessors had, with nuance and sensitivity. Making the experience even better is the soundtrack of the show, which is a mix of 80s pop and contemporary songs.
Bombay Begums
4.6OTTplay Rating
Alankrita Shrivastava brings another female-centric story to the forefront with Bombay Begums. The show follows the lives of five women from different strata of society and their desires, dreams and ambitions. While the star cast is impressive, it's Pooja Bhatt (in her streaming debut) you should be tuning in to the show for.
Mumbai Diaries 26/11
8.6OTTplay Rating
The medical drama series focuses on a Mumbai hospital as its doctors navigate the horrors of dealing with the influx of casualties due to a terror attack in the city. It's a drama that pays tribute to the frontline workers, who managed to maintain their cool even in the face of adversity of this magnitude.
Dil Bekaraar
6.9OTTplay Rating
There aren't many TV shows adapted from books that come to mind, but this one right mostly does justice to its source material. The wholesome Hotstar Original follows the Thakur sisters and the ups and downs of their lives in the 80s.
The Silent Sea
6.6OTTplay Rating
It's just been a week since The Silent Sea hit Netflix and it's a sci-fi drama that is so arresting, there just aren't enough words to describe it.
7.9OTTplay Rating
Nearly every year-end listicle about the best series of the year mentions WandaVision, and for good reason. It's a show that pays homage to the sitcom era, while feeding us a story that is so different and refreshing from what Marvel usually offers.
8.7OTTplay Rating
There is just no reason to miss out another dose of the dysfunctional Roy family, and Kieren Culkin's juicy performance as Roman.

Ted Lasso is a warm hug of a comedy that just cannot be missed. Watch both seasons, and you will surely thank us.
Tuca & Bertie
7.8OTTplay Rating
Tiffany Haddish and Ali Wong return to voice best friends Tuca and Bertie, respectively in the second season of this animated comedy series. This time the makers dive even deeper into their friendships, and the two as individuals. Tuca & Bertie is a one-of-a-kind and we cannot stop raving about it.
8OTTplay Rating
This time around Joe and Love are in the suburbs – they are newly married and have a baby to care for. But their demons creep back into their lives and they once again go on a killing spree. It's a show that you get hooked on, even when you cannot digest the absurdities of the plot.
8.3OTTplay Rating
Maid is an inspiring story of a woman who wrenches herself from an unhappy, abusive relationship to make life better for herself and her little daughter. It's the story of so many people and it's captured with care and thoughtfulness it needs.
