The 2007 psychological comedy film Bhool Bhulaiyaa, which was remade from the 1993 Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu, was directed by Priyadarshan. Special 26 is a criminal drama that Neeraj Pandey wrote and directed. The narrative involves a crew pretending to be CBI investigators as they carry out an income tax operation in Mumbai. The premise is based on the 1987 Opera House theft. In addition to Manoj Bajpayee, Jimmy Sheirgill, Anupam Kher, and Kajal Aggarwal feature in the film. The film was a financial success.
