Ranbir Kapoor’s movies have always been deemed as cult hits with many of them gaining fanfare in the later years. Kapoor is known for his impeccable performance and the ease in his portrayals. The actor is known for his realistic acting as well as relatable content. While movies like Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Wake Up Sid portrayed him as the romantic hero/boy-next-door, he also did not shy away from performing a strong-minded or someone in conflict with himself, for critically acclaimed movies like Rockstar, Barfi and Sanju. Bachna Ae Haseeno
In his second movie, Ranbir plays a commitment-phobic, yet hapless romantic Raj Sharma who understands the hurt and pain of rejection only after he is rejected by the girl he loves. Ranbir showcases his sweet-boy image in three periods in the movie. The movie became a commercial success and also catapulted Deepika Padukone to her stardom.

Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani
In his fourth romantic movie mixed with supernaturalism, Ranbir plays Prem, a carefree youth who falls in love with Jenny (Katrina Kaif) only to find out that she is in love with another guy. Dejected but happy for Jenny, Prem decides to unite the two lovers. But problems arise when Jenny’s lover goes missing and Prem has to take on the role. The movie became a commercial success with Ranbir being praised for the role of a one-sided lover.

Barfi!
Ranbir delivers a superb performance as the deaf and mute Murphy “Barfi” Johnson, a kind but fun-loving youth who falls in love with educated and wealthy Shruti (Ileana D’Cruz). The movie also has Priyanka Chopra playing an autistic Jhilmil Chatterjee, as Barfi's childhood friend. The movie became critically acclaimed with Ranbir being showered praises for his realistic portrayal as a deaf and mute in love.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani
Ranbir Kapoor comes again as a commitment-phobic romantic Kabir Thapar who falls for the introverted Naina (Deepika Padukone). Both of them are hesitant to admit their love as they fear it might mean that they would have to abandon their flourishing career. Ranbir again delivers a flawless performance as a lover hesitant to admit his feelings. The movie became one of the biggest hits of 2013.

Rockstar
The movie, which moved away from the cliche romantic storyline, made us see another side of the actor, Ranbir Kapoor. Rockstar narrated the story of an aspiring singer who falls in love with his rich college mate, engaged to be married to someone else. He becomes a famous and controversial rockstar, enraged by the hypocrisy of people and in search of the purpose of his life. The movie is one of the best performances of Ranbir. The soundtrack of the movie was named “album of the decade”.

Sanju
The biopic narrates the controversial life of the Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt. Ranbir played the actor and realistically portrays his struggles with drug addiction, relationships, terrorist accusations and media trials. The movie became one of the biggest hits of 2018 with Ranbir praised for the excellent portrayal of a struggling artist’s evolution as a superstar.
