Vishnu Vishal debuted as Marimuthu in the Tamil sports drama Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu. From the first film itself, he gained recognition with his innocent face and naive smile. But he surprised everyone with his success in comedy films. In Ratsasan, he broke away from the track of comedy and played a cop investigating serial killings. It has been twelve years since he came into the reel screen. Currently, he is working with Manu Anand in his new film F.I.R.

Marimuthu (Vishnu Vishal) is a player in the local kabaddi team. He comes from a poor family and dreams of winning a kabaddi tournament. But to date, their team has won zero matches. But their talent is noticed by Souda Muthu, state kabaddi team coach. He decides to train them and participate in a state kabaddi tournament to teach a lesson to the team which evicted him. For some, this makes their life better, but for others, it might be different. The film marks Vishnu Vishal's debut.

Jeeva is a youngster who is adamant about joining the Indian cricket team someday. Played by Vishnu Vishal in a naive yet charming manner, Jeeva narrates the story in a sports-romance-drama format. Here also the protagonist is addressing the caste politics which exists in Indian sports councils.

The film deals with the concept of time travel. Elango (Vishnu Vishal) and his friend (Karunakaran) accidentally get a time machine sent from the future. Realising its power, they decide to use it to get rich. Elango also impresses his lover’s father. Everything goes smoothly until the duo accidentally cracks the timeline by saving someone who actually dies. Returning to the present, they find themselves a target of several murder attempts. Now they have to go back and correct their mistakes. But it won’t be that easy.

Murugan (Vishnu Vishal) is the favorite of MLA Jacket Janakiraman. He takes money from people on behalf of MLA to secure their jobs. Jacket’s party leader Shanmugasundaram on his death bed revealed to Jacket the location of Rs 500 crore which he got through bribes. Jacket’s brother-in-law Bhootham also has eyes on the money. Bhootham kidnaps Jacket and interrogates him. But due to some accident Jacket has lost his memory and behaves like a child. It is up to Murugesan to find Jacket and save him.

Sathyamoothy a.k.a Sakthi (Vishnu Vishal) is a constable who pretends to be brave while trembling inside. He will do anything to avoid physical confrontation. He is only brave because of his uniform and other police officers who are with him. His laid-back life crumbles when he accidentally assaults a don who is in Silukkuvaarupatti to carry out an assassination. The latter feeling insulted and humiliated vows to finish off Sakti before doing anything. Now it is a reverse cat-and-mouse chase between a rowdy and a police officer.

Vishnu Vishal shines in this investigative drama. Vishnu plays Arun Kumar, an S.I put in charge of investigating a series of murders involving teenage girls. Aru, a film enthusiast makes connections quickly but often apprehends the wrong convict. The film also deals with childhood bullying and its long-lasting psychological effects.
