The country celebrated 75 glorious years of its Independence on Monday. The tricolour waved high in several homes to mark the occasion, with several celebrities also celebrating the historic day in style. The love for one’s motherland is something filmmakers have been inspired by for decades now, leading to some stellar silver screen works that pulsate with the values of patriotism in every frame. Here are a few web shows whose tales of patriotism are not to be missed.

Avrodh: The Siege Within is a fictional story inspired by the Uri attack and surgical strikes of 2016. The series is based on a chapter from Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh's book ‘India's Most Fearless’. Amit Sadh,Vikram Gokhale, Neeraj Kabi, Darshan Kumaar,Ananth Narayan Mahadevan and Madhurima Tuli star in the series, which was directed by Raj Acharya.
Bose: Dead Alive
Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose holds a place as one of the most respected and loved Indian revolutionaries in the Independence struggle of the nation. The revolutionary’s death is something which is still mulled over years later. Bose: Dead/Alive delves into the mystery of the freedom fighter’s death, suggesting there is more to it than what meets the eye. The mini series is based on the 2012 book India's Biggest Cover-up written by Anuj Dhar. The series saw Rajkummar Rao essay the role of the titular protagonist. Naveen Kasturia, Edward Sonnenblick and Anna Ador also star.
Indians have always taken pride in the defence forces of the country- the army, the navy, and the air force, which have made sure to protect the nation from harm's way by springing into action at the slightest hint of a threat. Shoorveer imagines a world where the nation seeks to build an elite task force, combining the three pillars of the military, to thwart the most dangerous threats against the country. The series stars Manish Chaudhari, Regina Cassandra, Arif Zakaria, Faisal Rashid, Armaan Ralhan and Aadil Khan in prominent roles. The series was created by Samar Khan.
P.O.W. Bandi Yuddh Ke
P.O.W. Bandi Yuddh Ke tells the gut wrenching tales of two Indian soldiers- Sartaj Singh and Imaan Khan, who were captured and imprisoned by the Pakistan army after the Kargil war. After being held captive for over 15 years, the duo are finally released. But years of imprisonment have taken their toll, and the brave veterans struggle to assimilate back into their normal lives and leave their trauma behind. Created by Nikkhil Advani, the series stars Satyadeep Mishra, Purab Kohli, Manish Chaudhari and Sanshya Mridul in pivotal roles.
The Forgotten Army - Azaadi Ke Liye
This Kabir Khan directorial is inspired from the true tales of the Indian national army, and their pivotal role in the Indian Independence movement which saw march towards the country’s capital, with cries of 'Challo Dilli echoing through the air. The series seeks to shed light on the ‘forgotten’ tales of these soldiers, whose contribution to the freedom struggle is largely unremembered. The series stars Sunny Kaushal and Sharvari Wagh in pivotal roles.
