Hansika Motwani started her acting career fairly early on and was a child artist in movies like Hawa and Koi Mil Gaya. She later developed herself into an actress of promise which saw her become a leading lady. Hansika was able to capture the heart of audiences with her romantic roles making her an instant favourite. Having appeared in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam movies, Hansika is an actress with a large following.

Sreenu (Ram) is a street-smart school dropout who decides to go to Hyderabad for further education. At his new college, he meets Shruthi (Hansika) and falls in love with her. Bhavani (Sonu Sood), a city gangster, is also in love with Shruthi and is forcing her to marry him. After a few events where Sreenu and Bhavani face-off, Shruthi and Sreenu fall in love and decide to elope. Things do not go according to plan as Sreenu learns that Sandhya (Aksha Pardasany) is in love with him and wants to marry him. With action, romance and humour, the movie leads to an intriguing climax and will keep you on the edge of your seat. It is an out and out entertainer.

This Venkat Prabhu movie revolves around two friends, Sugan (Karthi) and Parasuram (Premji) who are invited to a cocktail party hosted by Varadharajan (Nasser). The two friends get drunk and Sugan craves Biryani and they set out to find a Biryani shop. The next day, they find police cars searching for Varadharajan and they find his corpse in the trunk of their car and the police start chasing them. Seamlessly mixing action with black comedy and turning it into a thriller, Biriyani is always high on pace. The story of two men in a predicament with good making puts Biryani on the must-watch list.

Murali (Vinay) and his wife Madhavi (Andrea Jeremiah) return to his village to sell his ancestral place. They are accompanied by many of their other family members. After their arrival, they start noticing supernatural events taking place at their mansion and Vinay decides to uncover the truth behind it. This leads to him finding out about Selvi (Hansika), an orphan and her murder. Aranmanai is considered to be one of the best horror comedies in Tamil and has a cult following. The success of the movie also saw a sequel come out.

Tirupathi (Ravi Teja) is an aspiring police officer and is recruited by the home minister to impersonate the deceased ACP Baldev, as the two share an uncanny resemblance. His mission is to capture Ganguly, a dreaded gangster. Power became a hit following its release and features a whole lot of well-made action scenes. Ravi Teja also has several comedy scenes that crack you up.

Bharati (Genelia Deshmukh) is a journalist investigating corruption in the higher-ups of the system. The Home Minister is working with terrorists who plan to wreak havoc in Chennai. Bharati gives birth to an imaginary character called Velayudham, who wants to clean up the city. Meanwhile, Velayudham (Vijay), an ordinary milkman, arrives in Chennai and unknowingly gets involved in events and unwillingly has to take up the superhero persona created by Bharati. Velayudham was a hit movie upon release and it is an action-packed movie. It stars Vijay as a superhero persona and everything from the costumes to the fast-paced stunts make it a movie worth the watch.

Aishwarya (Hansika) falls in love with Karthik (Jayam Ravi) assuming that he is rich. When she realises he is just an ordinary gym instructor, he leaves her. Later, she engages with Arjun (Vamsi Krishna), who is indeed rich. When Karthik threatens to break her relationship with Arjun, Aishwarya is forced to find a suitable girl for Karthik. Romeo Juliet is a romantic comedy that hits a lot of the right places. The combination of Jayam Ravi and Hansika works a treat and this gives the movie an edge.
