In Ludo, Tripathi took people on a roller-coaster ride. He created fear and panic, and at the same time, Sattu Bhaiya made everyone laugh and made people enjoy the journey called life. With him, Qismat ki hawa was actually Kabhi Naram, Kabhi Garam. The Anurag Basu directorial was a film based on four stories - of a former criminal (Bittu, played by Abhishek Bachchan) trying to live a happy family life, a woman who's marriage hangs by a thread (Sanya Malhotra as Shruti Choksi), a lover who would go to any extent to make his sweetheart happy (Sattu and Pinky Jain played by Rajkummar Rao and Fatima Sana Shaikh), and two people who have gotten lucky financially (Rahul and Sheeja aka Rohit Saraf and Pearle Maaney). It is the story of how they get tangled in each other's life and eventually, come together for an engaging climax. The film can be streamed on Netflix India.
Tripathi played the role of Assistant Commandant Aatma Singh, in the movie Newton. The film, which addressed the problem of voting in Naxal-infested areas, made for an important watch. His character was stringent in his approach - that not a single individual cares about voting in such areas. However, Rajkummar Rao in the role of Newton Kumar manages to transform his views. The actor even won a Special Mention (Actor) at National Film Awards, and Best Supporting Actor at News18 Reel Movie Awards, for his role in the film. Newton can be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
Bareilly Ki Barfi

Although Rajkummar Rao totally stole hearts with his cute acting as Pritam Virodhi in Bareilly Ki Barfi, Tripathi came dangerously close as Narrotam Mishra. A glimpse at Mishra and you'd feel like dancing to the tunes of life. His character brings joy to the already light-hearted comedy. Bareilly Ki Barfi was the story of Bitti Mishra (Kriti Sanon) who is finding the only man who understands her as a person. The film can be streamed on Netflix India.
Gangs of Wasseypur - Part 1

Tripathi was first recognized aa Sultan Qureshi from Anurag Kashyap's Gangs of Wasseypur. The actor played the role of a dreaded antagonist. A butcher by profession, he also heavily influenced the politics of Wasseypur since he was the leader of the village. The film exposes the caste-based discrimination and violence which took place in Wasseypur, in the era when Wasseypur and Dhanbad were still a part of Bengal. Gangs of Wasseypur can be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl

Tripathi played the very loving Anup Saxena in Janhvi Kapoor-starrer Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl. He played the role of a father and put forth real emotions, that every daughter who viewed the film, could connect with. The film was a biography on female air-force pilot Gunjan Saxena, who was one of the first women to make that dream come true. Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl was a Netflix release. It streamed in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic and its consequent lockdown.

Tripathi made for a hilarious character as Rudra in Stree. His dialogue "Woh stree hai, kuch bhi kar sakti hai" became so popular it turned into a meme. Rudra pretended to be a sage with knowledge on how to deal with ghosts, but his suggestions only invoked more laughter among audiences. Stree was a horror-comedy film. It brought about the mystery of men going missing, while their clothes are left behind. The film ended on a cliffhanger and makers have spoken about a sequel to the Rajkummar Rao-Shraddha Kapoor starrer. The film can be viewed on Netflix in India.

Tripathi is currently gaining popularity for his role as Lal Bihari in Kaagaz. The actor plays a farmer in the film, who has been declared dead on Government documents. The film, which released on Zee5, marks the struggle of the actor as he is declared dead officially, but is very much alive. Bonus show: Mirzapur There is no character Tripathi plays as cool as Kaleen Bhaiya (Akhanand Tripathi). Thus, the show Mirzapur and his character deserved a special mention in the list. Kaleen Bhaiya is a powerful and smart man who will go to all lengths to protect his family. The show revolves around Mirzapur and the Tripathi family controlling the city. However, they find themselves competing with the Pandit and Gupta family soon. Mirzapur is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
