On Irrfan Khan’s death anniversary, here are some of the actor’s Hollywood films available on OTT

“I always think I’m the coolest guy in the room, and everybody’s hanging on to every word I say and everybody’s a little intimidated to be in my presence. And then Irrfan Khan walks into the room. And he’s the coolest guy in the room”. This is what Tom Hanks said about the late Irrfan while promoting their 2016 film Inferno. The actor passed away two years ago on this day, but his legacy still lives on. Proving himself as a gifted actor in India, he applied his traits in a number of Hollywood movies as well. So, here is a list of Irrfan’s Hollywood movies to stream on OTT on his death anniversary.

The movie stars Tom Hanks and Felicity Jones in the lead and has them moving across Europe after finding clues tied to Dante, the great medieval poet in a race against time. Irrfan plays the bad guy in the movie, who is the head of a secret organisation who plans to unleash a plague upon the world to end overpopulation.
Irrfan plays the lead in this romantic drama along with Kelly Macdonald. The two find each other through their love for jigsaw puzzles. Playing a wealthy man in the movie, Irrfan is attracted to Macdonald and something brews between the two of them. Based on the 2010 Argentine film of the same name, Puzzle premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival.
Jurassic World
Ending up as one of the highest grossing movies in the world following its release, Jurassic World was the fourth movie in the Jurassic Park franchise and the first in the Jurassic World trilogy. Irrfan plays the wealthy Simon Masrani, who now owns the new theme park in Isla Nublar island.
Life of Pi
Ang Lee’s highly acclaimed survival drama follows an Indian boy’s life afloat in the Pacific, accompanied by a Bengal Tiger. Irrfan plays the grown up version of the boy, who narrates the story to an author, Winning four Oscars and premiering as the opening film of the 50th New York Film Festival, this is a must watch.
The Amazing Spider-Man
In the fourth theatrical Spider-Man movie, directed by Marc Webb, Irrfan plays an Oscorp executive, who is the immediate superior of Dr. Curt Connors, who plays Lizard. Considering he was close to the main antagonist of the movie, Irrfan can be seen heckled and troubled by him in the movie.
The Darjeeling Limited
Wes Anderson’s love for India and Indian cinema is known. When the filmmaker decided to make a movie in and about the country, set within a train ride, he also cast Irrfan to play an important role in it. While the role is not long, it definitely is powerful.
The Namesake
Directed by Mira Nair, the film is based on Jhumpa Lahiri’s book of the same name. The movie stars Kal Penn in the lead as an American born Indian, who has a hard time accepting his roots. Irrfan and Tabu are his Indian parents, with Irrfan playing a man who still holds on to his Indian roots. The film received glowing reviews following its release from the American audience.
