The Vijay Sethupathi-starrer has him playing Dr Kamaraj, a medical college professor. Just like the revolutionary leader of Tamil Nadu with the same name, the professor in the film is a revered human being, whose footsteps were religiously followed by his students. His words of wisdom were respected by them throughout their lives. For instance, when he advised his students to do practice in rural areas where medical attention was scarce, they blindly followed it upon trust they had on him. He was also instrumental in carving the students into fine medical professionals, thus making a huge impact in their lives.

A period drama set in the 60’s, the protagonist of the movie is someone who tries to let the rural people understand the importance of education, who in a series of events joins hands with them to take down a notorious man from exploiting the innocent. What starts out as a bitter first impression turns out to be a heartening bond between the teacher and the children of the rural folks. The movie is also worth a watch to experience the world of parallel cinema of the South.
