The concept of travel has long been associated with movies. Whether it is Dev Anand in the form of 'Guide' or 'Bunny' Ranbir Kapoor travelling across the world, beautiful picturesque from all across the world have always been captured through the reel.

Out of Africa

Out of Africa is an epic romantic drama starring Meryl Streep and Robert Redford. The film is loosely based on Isak Dinesen’s autobiographical book of the same name. Karen Blixen (Streep), a dairy farmer, travels to Africa to join her husband Bror (Klaus Maria Brandauer). Using her funds, he spends the money on a coffee plantation which Blixen had no knowledge of. Later she falls in love with Africa and African people and travels to some breathtaking places in East and South-Eastern states. She does a lot for the native people over there, including establishing a school. Streep perfectly developed Blixen’s accent by listening to her recordings. The film has won 7 Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Sound. Stream this one on YouTube.
The Bucket List

The Bucket List is a comedy-drama starring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. The story of two terminally ill men on their road trip with a wish list of things to do before they die. The film has received mixed critics but it was a box office success and was reviewed as one of the top ten films of 2007. The main plot revolves around an automotive mechanic Carter Chambers (Freeman) and billionaire Edward Cole (Nicholson) who meet for the first time after both men are diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. During their time in the hospital, both of them manage to find a common interest in traveling. For fun, Carter started writing a list of activities to do before he dies. Later, Cole adds some of his wishes to the list and offers to finance all the expenses and then they embark on their final vacation together. The Bucket List is available for viewing on YouTube.
The Darjeeling Limited

The Darjeeling Limited is a comedy-drama film directed and co-produced by Wes Anderson. The film was released in the year 2007 and received generally favorable reviews from critics. The film premiered at the 64th Venice International Film Festival and also named among the Top Films of the Year at the NYFCO Awards. Starring Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody, and Schwartzman, the main plot revolves around the three brothers who decide to meet in India a year after their father’s funeral. They embark upon a “spiritual Journey” to reinforce their relationship with each other. Wild is a biographical adventure drama film based on Cheryl Strayed's 2012 memoir Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail. Starring Reese Witherspoon as Strayed alongside Laura Dern (as her mother). Strayed (Witherspoon) following her recent divorce determines to complete the 1,100 mile-long Pacific Crest Trail by hiking and backpacking. She discovers a lot about the world and herself as she goes along the trek. Witherspoon and Dern received nominations for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress respectively at the 87th Academy Awards. Wild can be streamed on YouTube.
Into the Wild

Into the Wild is a biographical adventure drama film adapted from the 1996 non-fiction book by Jon Krakauer. The film is written, directed, and co-produced by Sean Penn. The story revolves around Christopher McCandless (Emile Hirsch), a young graduate, decides to renounce all his possessions and hitchhike across North America into the Alaskan wilderness in the early 1990s. One of the songs ("Guaranteed") from the film won the 2008 Golden Globe Award. Stream this one on Netflix.
