As Kuruthi completes its third day of release, actor Roshan Mathew continues to receive rave reviews about his performance alongside Prithviraj Sukumaran in this Manu Warrier directorial. In an interview with news18, Roshan said that this has been the most complex character he's played so far and he was nervous to go to the shoot of the film. His character Ibrahim faces severe tragedies in life and finding hope and strength to continue living is what constitutes Kuruthi. The actor further added, "Everything that happens from then on is basically the movie from Ibrahim’s perspective."

This is not the first time the young actor is leaving his viewers awestruck. Since Roshan’s major role in 2016’s Puthiya Niyamam, the actor has made sure to excel each of his roles and has received worldwide recognition for them.

Here is a list of movies anyone would rewatch to just see Roshan Mathew nailing each of his roles.

The 2016 Malayalam crime drama by A K Sajan narrates the story of Vasuki (Nayanthara), who takes revenge on her rapists. The movie marks Roshan Mathew’s debut as a lead, and his villain character has received much appreciation. The young actor’s performance, depicting emotions well with perfection, left the audience amused. In scenes with Nayanthara, Roshan did not seem intimidated and performed equally up to the mark, even though he was just a debutant then, working alongside superstar Mammootty.
The teenage drama is about a group of engineering students and their trip to Goa and Hampi. The movie helmed by Ganesh Raj stars Roshan in a titular role. The movie was well-accepted by the audience, especially the teenagers due to its simplicity and sense of humour. Gautham, played by Roshan in the movie, is a soft-hearted and a sweet youngster, strikingly opposite to the role he played in his first movie. The movie, which was a blockbuster in the box office, was dubbed in Telugu later, under the same title.

The 2019 Malayalam action drama, helmed by Geetu Mohandas, narrates the story of a young teenager, who tries to learn the truth about his elder brother who ran away from home. Roshan Mathew has played a strong character alongside Nivin Pauly, which received many appreciations since they portrayed a queer love story. His revolutionary character was received worldwide. It is a brave attempt by him since the society we live in is still queerphobic to a larger extent. The movie was added in The Hindu’s top 25 Malayalam films of the decade, and also is claimed to be one of the bold attempts in Malayalam cinema.

The Hindi-language drama directed by Anurag Kashyap stars Saiyami Kher and Roshan Mathew in titular roles with Amrutha Subhash and Rajshri Deshpande. The movie, which is set against the backdrop of Indian demonetisation in 2016, narrates the story of a woman who discovers hidden cash in her kitchen sink. Roshan proved his talents in another language movie by playing the role of an unemployed and lazy husband, and expressed the flaws in the character in a very realistic manner. The movie is written by Nihit Bhave under Netflix’s and Good Bad Films’ joint production.
