1942: A Love Story

1942: A Love Story, directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra is a patriotic romance released in 1994 starring Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, Anupam Kher & Manisha Koirala. The movie revolves around a couple, Naren Singh whose father is loyal to the British Raj and Rajeshwari "Rajjo" Pathak who's father is a revolutionary. Naren tries to convince Rajjo's father, Raghuvir Pathak, that he would do anything for her. Meanwhile, Naren's father Hari Singh manipulates the information of Raghuvir's hideout from Naren. Hari ends up leaking the information to the Britishers but the officials end up dying as Raghuvir had a bomb with him. Naren, furious with his father becomes a revolutionary meanwhile, Shubhankar who took Rajjo with him as he was a friend of her father. Rajjo, Shubhanker and Naren clear the area off from British loyals and end up hanging General Douglas and taking back their region.
