Five Easy Pieces, directed by Bob Rafelson is a drama movie released in 1970. The movie revolves around Bobby Dupea (Jack Nicholson) who works in an oil field and his girlfriend Rayette (Karen Black) who is a waitress and dreams of singing country music. Bobby gets Rayette pregnant. Bobby in reality is a classical pianist from a well off family. Elton, Bobby’s friend, gets arrested and Bobby strats to leave for L.A to his sister, Partita’s place. Rayette threatens Bobby that she will kill herself if he leaves her alone like this so he is forced to take her along. Bobby ends up leaving Rayette in a motel and leaves for his family home on an island in Puget Sound. There he meets Catherine who is engaged to his brother but the two feel and attraction towards eachother and end up having sex. Somehow Rayette finds her way to the house and it is an awkward meeting for everyone. Bobby tries to get Catherine (Susan Anspach) to go away with him but she declines so he leaves with Rayette who he leaves stranded in a diner and runs off.
