Pietro Marcello's new documentary offers a portrait and an inside view into the life of Italian singer Lucio Dalla, whose songs captured the plight of the marginalised of Italy at a time of social and cultural change. 

Marcello has paired Dalla’s music throughout the film with personal testimonies and archive footage. 

The film emphasizes personality over chronology and dwells more on the work of Dalla than his life.  

Pietro Marcello is also known for his other films Futura (2021), and Martin Eden (2019), among others.
