Four Women

Naalu Pennungal is a 2014 Indian Malayalam language film directed by Adoor Gopalakrishnan. This is a drama film which follows the story of four different women, from different backgrounds. The film is an anthology of 4 women. Naalu Pennungal revolves around a sex worker, a virgin, a housewife and a mature unmarried woman. They have their own problems and conflicts in life. A woman centered film with strong performances by the actors. All the stories are based in the time period of 1940’s to 1950’s, in Kerala. The prostitute meets a tragic end while the others get a more fitting conclusion.
