Jodhaa Akbar, a 2008 movie, is directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and is an action-drama and history-based film. The movie revolves around the unconditional love between Jodhaa and Akbar and the religious boundaries between Hindu and Muslim.
Jodhaa is a peace offering in a war so that the Mughals wouldn't attack Amer, and their relations could be made strong. Akbar considers this as a strong alliance that could offer peace between the Mughals and Rajputs. Before the wedding ceremony, Jodhaa comes up with two conditions, thinking that would force the Emperor to back off from the marriage.
Akbar surprisingly accepts to let Jodhaa keep her religion, and a temple would be built at her place to continue her faith. After the marriage, even though Jodhaa resents Akbar, both of them fall in love with each other.
Towards the end of the movie, few truths were revealed, which ensures that the religious boundaries are not safe. Hence, Akbar takes certain measures with the help of Jodhaa to rectify the wrongs. He defeats Sharifuddin in hand-to-hand combat and strips him from the title of Viceroy of Ajmer and Nagaur.
