Lage Raho Munna Bhai, a 2006 movie, is directed by Rajkumar Hirani and is a romantic-comedy and drama film. The film revolves around a man who starts to hallucinate Mahatma Gandhi and practices Gandhigiri(Gandhian principles).
Murli Prasad Sharma, also known as Munna Bhai, played by Sanjay Dutt, is in the role of a gangster and falls in love with the voice of Jhanvi, a radio jockey. Munna meets her after he wins the quiz of Gandhi using help from some professors. Even though Munna lies about his profession, he studies Gandhi and his teachings to give a speech to impress Jhanvi, played by Vidya Balan.
Lucky, on the other hand, tries to capture a house, “Second Innings House” for her daughter and son-in-law(Sameer) due to the superstitious beliefs of Sameer's father. The story gets twisted when Munna starts to follow Gandhian principles while hallucinating about Gandhi and pursues Lucky to give up dishonesty.
Towards the end of the movie, Munna realizes that he has been hallucinating the whole time, but his teachings and principles did change a lot of hearts. Abhishek Bachchan as Sameer, irrespective of his father’s superstitious beliefs, marries Simran. Simran’s father, Lucky, on the other hand, also start to follow Gandhigiri and hallucinate Gandhi.
