Mausam

Mausam, a 1975 movie, is directed by Gulzar, It is a romantic and dramatic movie which follows the story of Amarnath Gill, a young man who visits Darjeeling to study for medical exams. During his visit, he meets Chanda, the daughter of a local healer, Harihar Thapa,& falls in love. Later, Amarnath leaves for his final exams in Kolkata but promises Chanda to return for her, although he never kept his promise. Amarnath, as a wealthy man, does return to Darjeeling but after 25 years and learns about Chanda’s marriage and Harihar’s demise. He learns the horrible truth about Chanda giving birth to a girl, became insane, and died. Amarnath meets Kajli, Chanda's daughter and gets to know about her, being sexually abused by Chanda’s brother in law. Towards the end of the movie, Kajli, unaware of the fact that Amarnath is the reason for her mother’s condition and present fate, she falls in love with him.
