Naanu Avanalla… Avalu, directed B. S. Lingadevaru is a Kannada feature film released in 2015. The movie is based on Living Smile Vidya's autobiographical work ‘I am Vidya.’ The movie is a homage to the transgender community and shows the wrongs that happen against them. The movie is an inspiration which shows the struggle of their lives. The movie revolves around Madesha (Sanchari Vijay) who as a kid was bullied for his girlish behaviour. When he grew up and moved to Bangalore, he was teased for his girlish behaviour. Not being comfortable with himself he meets the head of the transgender community, Danamma. He ends up going through the surgery and took the name of Vidya Vidya is discriminated against in the workplace and when she went back home, her family disowned her. While walked back home she got arrested by the police who was catching transgender prostitutes. Here she told the police inspector her story who got her a job as an assistant to his friend who is a film director. She became a legend to people in the transgender community, especially in India.
