In the year 1943, during WWII, a Jewish lawyer named Ewen Montagu sends his family to the United States for safety reasons and risks his life by remaining in England. Montagu is eventually appointed to the Twenty Committee, and along with Charles Cholmondeley, he proposes a plan that would require a corpse to wash on the shores, carrying false information to outwit the Axis Powers. Based on Ben Macintyre’s book Operation Mincemeat, which was the name of the operation conducted during WWII, the movie is directed by John Madden, with a screenplay by Michelle Ashford. Starring Colin Firth, Matthew Macfadyen, Kelly Macdonald, Penelope Wilton, Johnny Flynn and Jason Isaacs in the lead, the cast also includes Mark Gatiss, Hattie Morahan, Mark Bonnar, Paul Ritter, Alex Jennings, Simon Russell Beale, James Fleet, Nicholas Rowe, Will Keen, Charlotte Hamblin, Lorne MacFadyen, Rufus Wright, Jonjo O'Neill, Ruby Bentall and Ellie Haddington, among others.
