Ordinary People, is a 1980 American drama movie, directed by Robert Redfort. The film revolves around an alienated teenager Conrad Jarrett tries to commit suicide after blaming himself for the death of his older brother, Buck, in a sailing accident. During this time, Dr. Berger, Conrad’s psychiatrist, helps him out by reconnecting him with his parents. While Conrade quits blaming himself for Buck’s death, Karen, a friend of his from the psychiatric hospital, commits suicide. The end scene reveals Conrad dealing with his present situation and accepting the flaws of life. The film was nominated for numerous awards and received a good critical reception.
