Road to Perdition

Road To Perdition, a 2002 movie, is directed by Sam Mendes, streaming on Amazon Prime Video and Netflix. It is an American crime-drama and thriller film adapted from the graphic novel of the same written by Max Allan Collins. The movie stars Tom Hanks as Michael Sullivan and Daniel Craig as Connor Rooney. During the depression-era in 1931, Mike Sullivan Sr. works as an enforcer for the Irish Mob, headed by John Rooney. Rooney trusts and confides in Sullivan more than his own biological son, Connor. In jealousy and rage, Connor kills Sullivan’s wife and his younger son Peter, though he could not hurt Michael Jr., Sullivan’s eldest son, who hid well when he got home. Sullivan flees with Michael Jr. having the rage in his heart to take revenge. The last scene depicts a father(Sullivan) dying in his son’s arms and Michael Jr. winning over his father’s fear of choosing the same life as his by not holding a gun thereafter.
