Zenda is a 2009 Indian-Marathi language film directed by Avdhoot Gupte. This drama film follows the story of a political party, its leadership and the party’s agenda and its followers. The film is inspired from real life events - the conflict between Raj and Uddhav Thackeray.
When the leadership of a political party is given from one to another, the intent of the decision and the party itself comes to light. A party formed due to converging views, begins to diverge and eventually divide within itself.
The movie also touches on how politicians create a good public image by manipulating the media itself. A tale of politics and takeover of power from one generation to another. The film did a decent job.
