If the buzz in the industry is to go by, Samuthirakani has been roped in for a crucial role in AK61. Though details about his role in the action entertainer is yet to be out, it looks like the actor is more or less on board.

In the meantime, actor Aadhi, too has met Ajith. Though there are no details about what went on during the meeting, the pictures of the duo have been doing the rounds on the internet. Ajith is sporting a fitter look, much to the delight of his fans.

It was not long ago that there were speculations about Rajathanthiram actor Veera being part of the project, which is said to revolve around a money heist. Interestingly, Rajathanthiram was also a money heist subject, directed by AG Amid.

Asuran actress Manju Warrier has been announced as the leading lady of AK61. The actress herself had confirmed the same at an event. Though she remained tight-lipped about the other details of the film, she stated that she had signed the project as she liked the script. It is said that Manju Warrier was brought in as the replacement for Tabu, who was approached for the character.

In the meantime, Ajith will be seen in a dual role in the film. The actor had earlier portrayed dual characters in films like Vaali and Villain. Ajith has knocked off some kilos for his role and a fitter version of the actor has got people, especially his fans going ga-ga over his new look.

AK61 is directed by H Vinoth. This is Ajith's third collaboration with him. The duo had earlier teamed up for Nerkonda Paaravai (remake of the Hindi film Pink) and the action flick Valimai. All three films, including AK61 has been bankrolled by Boney Kapoor. After wrapping up the shoot for AK61, Ajith will work with Vignesh Shivan, who is now basking in the success of Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal.
