Bollywood actor Aditya Roy Kapur is getting ready for the release of his first movie as an all-out action star with Rashtra Kavach Om. The actor recently opened up about what attracted him to the movie and why the makers felt the need to change its title.

“This film has a strong emotional anchor and that’s what takes the story forward; that’s also what struck me the most. It’s a story about a family. Action is the icing on the cake and that is the beauty of the film,” said Kapur, in an interview with Times of India.

Further on the movie, he said that the story has many layers and that while a lot of effort has been put into the action scenes, the emotional core is what attracted him to the project. The movie is also about a mother and son’s bond, the son looking for his father and his responsibilities towards the country.

The actor also talked about the movie’s change of title from Om: The Battle Within to Rashtra Kavach Om. He said that the makers believed that the new title would resonate better with the viewers.

Directed by Kapil Verma, the movie will follow a Special Forces soldier as he looks to find answers to questions about his life while on a mission to save his country. The movie also stars Sanjana Sanghi, Jackie Shroff, Ashutosh Rana, Vikram Kochhar and Vicky Arora in important roles.

The movie’s makers released an official trailer earlier this month, which revealed Aditya Roy Kapur’s physical makeover for the role. The trailer has already become a hit, having garnered over 29 million views on YouTube.

Bankrolled by Zee Studios and A Paper Doll Entertainment, the action thriller is set to hit theatres on July 1.
