Blessy’s Aadujeevitham has been in the making for almost a decade now. The movie, which went on floors in 2019, has had a start-stop journey due to the pandemic and its consequent restrictions. But this year, the team is hoping to wind up its shoot.
Its latest schedule kicked off in Algeria this week and Prithviraj Sukumaran posted a photo from its location at the Sahara Desert from the African country. The team is expected to shoot for at least 40 days in the country before moving to Jordan for another month.
Prithviraj had shed a lot of weight for its 2020 schedule to play the protagonist Najeeb in the movie, which is based on Benyamin’s novel Aadujeevitham. In a recent press meet, the actor said that in the past two years, he has planned his professional and personal commitments around the movie as it could be shot only during a particular season of the year in Algeria.
“For the past four years, three months before that time of the year, I start growing my beard and losing my weight, and then for some reason, the shoot doesn’t happen,” he said, adding that this time he is hoping to return after completing the film.
Prithviraj had taken a break for a few weeks before joining the film, to shed more weight and get into the mind space of the character. In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Blessy had told us that the shoot of the movie has been planned in way that it doesn’t affect the film’s continuity even though the schedules have been years apart.
The filmmaker had also confirmed that a Hollywood actor will be part of the current schedule. After the shoot in Algeria and Jordan, the team will also be filming the tail-end portions in India.
