Agent on OTT: Ahead of its digital release, fans want updates on Akhil Akkineni's next

Akhil Akkineni is yet to score a proper hit under his belt despite being one of the brightest talents in Telugu cinema. His latest film, Agent was a colossal flop at the box office and disappointed the young hero and his fans. Agent released on April 28th, 2023 but since then, there is no news about Akhil nor the actor has shown up in any media event.

Now that Agent is all set for its digital screening, fans of Akhil are posting messages on social media asking him to announce his next film. Right after the theatrical release of Agent, Akhil was supposed to announce his next but the event was called off and there is no update on the project.

We at OTTplay had already revealed that Akhil will be doing a project in the UV Creations banner and a newcomer named Anil Kumar would direct the film. But as there is no news about this film, fans are super excited to know what kind of a film his next is going to be.

Not many know that UV Creations had also registered a title Dheera with the film chamber and this news made the fans happy. Well, all those who missed out on Agent at the theaters can watch the film on Sony Live from the 23rd of June, 2023. Surender Reddy had directed Agent which had Sakshi Vaidya as the heroine.

A lot of money went into the remuneration of Agent, as stars like Mammootty were paid a bomb. Thanks to the failure of Agent, producer Anil Sunkara lost over 25 crores. He spent 80 crores on the film without even gauging the market of Akhil. The producer himself revealed that they took Agent on floors without a proper plan and hence the film flopped.
