Vikram's Cobra, which is set to hit the screens on Wednesday, is the versatile actor's theatrical release after a three-year hiatus. The Ajay Gnanamuthu directorial will have its shows starting from as early as 5 am across Tamil Nadu. The team has been on a promotion spree in different locations across south India.

The movie's producer Lalit Kumar of Seven Screen Studio had approached Madras High Court recently to take action against pirated websites as a lot of money is riding on the big budget project which has been in the making for a few years.

In a huge relief to the makers, the court has granted an order to block 1,788 piracy websites so as to refrain from screening the film illegally. Lalit Kumar was the producer for Vikram's last outing Mahaan as well which was directly dropped on Amazon Prime Video earlier this year.

Irfan Pathan, Roshan Mathew, Meenakshi Govindarajan and Mirnalini Ravi among others essay important characters in Cobra which revolves around a brilliant mathematician who sets out to take revenge against a few people for destroying his life.

Bhuvan Srinivasan and Harish Kannan have handled editing and cinematography respectively for the film which has action choreography helmed by Dhilip Subbarayan. Satish Krishnan has composed dance movies for the film which has been shot across different countries.
