Another actor has boarded the cast of Ahsoka, the spin-off The Mandalorian led by Rosario Dawson. The Hollywood Reporter writes that Ray Stevenson (Vikings) will be seen in the series, reportedly as an antagonist.
The upcoming series is based on Ahsoka Tano (Dawson), a former Jedi Padawan. The character made her live-action debut in Season 2 of The Mandalorian. She reprised the role in The Book of Boba Fett.
"Sources say he is a villain in the series and will play an admiral… although, not Thrawn," says the report. Digital Spy speculates that the actor who previously played Mandalorian warrior Gar Saxon could be seen as Thrawn’s right-hand man Gilad Pellaeon.
The cast also includes Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ivanna Sakhno and Natasha Liu Bordizzo (as Sabine Wren). Hayden Christensen will reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker.
Stevenson has previously been associated with Star Wars projects like Star Wars Rebels and The Clone Wars where he voiced Gar Saxon. He is also known for playing Volstagg in Marvel’s Thor films.
Filming of the series will begin in Los Angeles at the end of April this year and will premiere on Disney+ soon.
