The shooting of Ajith's forthcoming film AK 61 (tentatively titled), which kicked off earlier this year, has been going on at a brisk pace in Hyderabad. The star recently took a short break from the schedule to pursue his passion for biking and travelled to Europe for a few days.

Though the movie which is being helmed by H Vinoth was initially said to be a Deepavali release, it looks like the project will hit the screens only around December. The team is yet to announce the official title of the project which is being produced by Boney Kapoor. AK 61 marks the third collaboration of Ajith-Vinoth-Boney trio after Nerkonda Paarvai and Valimai.

Though the team is tight-lipped about the movie's story, we had told you earlier that the film is billed as a heist thriller. According to sources, AK 61 revolves around a bank robbery and its cast includes Manju Warrier, Kavin and Veera among others.

The makers had erected the set of a bank in Hyderabad a while ago where a lion's share of the shooting had been happening. We now learn that the erected set is a replica of the iconic State Bank of India building situated at Mount Road in Chennai.

Interestingly, the bank, which is more than a century old, was opened in January 1920, and remains as one of the important landmarks in the city. There are unconfirmed reports that the entire Mount Road stretch has been recreated for the film, but one has to wait till the film's release to know if it is true.

It's been a few months since the project has gone on floors, but no still of the actors from the location has been leaked yet. With the team's previous outing Valimai opening to mixed response, all eyes are now on AK 61's performance at the box office.
