AK61: Massive bank set erected in Hyderabad for Ajith Kumar’s heist thriller with H Vinoth

Ajith Kumar’s latest outing, Valimia, held its ground at the box office regardless of its mixed reviews. The actor has teamed up with Valimai director H Vinoth for a third project, and the latest updates from the movie is that the makers have erected sets in Hyderabad.

According to a report by Times of India, Ajith joined the team in Hyderabad three days ago and will start filming today. The shooting is said to last at least two months at a stretch.

A source told Time of India, “A massive set of Mount Road has been erected in a studio in Hyderabad, where the team will be shooting a major chunk of the film. One of the key components of the set-up is a bank.”

The rumours about Tabu and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan having been approached to play the female lead in the movie was turned down by the source. The source added that the makers are in talks with one of the leading ladies of the South film industry and that the announcement will be made within this week.

H. Vinoth narrated the one liner to Ajith during the filming of Valimai and the actor immediately gave the nod, after taking a liking to his character in the movie. Ajith and Vinoth have also worked together on Nerkonda Paarvai, the Tamil remake of Pink.

Nirav Shah, who cranked the camera for both Nerkonda Paarvai and Valimai is the cinematographer for AK61. Ghibran is the music composer for the heist thriller.

Valimai, which also stars Kartikeya Gummakonda, Huma Qureshi and Dhruvan, is available to stream on ZEE5.
