The shoot for Ajith's next, which is tentatively being referred to as AK62 is yet to begin, but the digital rights of the film have already been bagged by this leading platform. Taking to its official social media handle, Netflix wrote, "We tried to stay CHILLA CHILLA but we just CANNOT! #AK62 is coming on Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada as a post theatrical release! #NetflixPandigai #AK62 #NetflixLaEnnaSpecial (sic)." The film's director Vignesh Shivan was recently spotted in Sabarimala for the Makara Jyothi darshan.

Maamannan is touted as the last film of Udhayanidhi Stalin as an actor. The film, helmed by Mari Selvaraj, has Vaigai Puyal Vadivelu and Keerthy Suresh as part of the star cast.

Netflix has also bagged Karthik Subbaraj's Jigarthanda Double X starring SJ Suryah and Raghava Lawrence.

On the occasion of Pongal, today, Netflix announced the release of a series of films, which includes Japan, Iraivan, Chandramukhi 2 and Aaryan. The films will stream on the platform in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada after their  post-theatrical release.

Japan marks Karthi's 25th film and is helmed by Raju Murugan. The star cast includes Anu Emmanuel, Sunil and Sanal Aman. Music is composed by GV Prakash Kumar. While the cinematography is by Vijay Milton, Philom Raj will be handling the editing. Karthi plays a quirky character from the film and the team had dropped a new poster yesterday.

Karthi had also released the title of Jayam Ravi's next, Iraivan, which was until now referred to as JR29. The film marks the comeback of the Thani Oruvan duo Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara. It is directed by Ahmed of Manithan fame.

As for Chandramukhi 2, the shoot is going on in full swing and the team had recently announced Kangana Ranaut as its addition to the cast. The film stars Raghava Lawrence in the lead and is directed by P Vasu, who had directed the original.

Vishnu Vishal's  Aaryan will have the actor playing a police officer. The film is written and directed by Praveen K.

With a series of films in its kitty, it looks like it's Netflix Pongal indeed!
