An adaptation of the epic fantasy novel series by Robert Jordan, the Wheel of Time takes place in a fictional universe, where magic is a reality. It follows the journey of Moiraine, who belongs to an all-woman cult of magic users called the Aes Sedai, and how her life gets intertwined as she takes a group of five friends, one among whom may be the reincarnation of an ancient dragon destined to protect or destroy the world. Together they embark on a journey to defeat the forces of the Dark One, a corrupt entity who desires to destroy all.
Playing the lead protagonists, we have Rosamund Pike as the sorceress Moiraine Damodred, Henney as Lan Mandragoran, Josha Stradowski as Rand al'Thor, Zoë Robins, Barney Harris, Marcus Rutherford, and Madeleine Madden.
Amazon took to its social media handles on Wednesday and unveiled the first look of the logo, which has a very catchy design – a snake coiled into itself, having metallic silver rustic scales. A new tagline has also been adopted saying ‘even legends can have a beginning’, imbibing a mysterious tone to the logo.
With parallels being drawn with Game of Thrones, Wheel of Time has a rich expansive foundation as it is based on a set of 12 novels, with a lot of potential characters and plot arcs to grasp the attention of the audience. The logo as well as the official storyline are quite promising and are indicative of the efforts and high-quality graphics that are being used in the show, exciting the viewers further.
Created by Rafe Judkins, the show has started amassing a fan base, with many of them eagerly waiting for its release. In fact, Amazon has already greenlit the series for a second season, even before the premiere of its first. The Wheel of Time is scheduled to arrive in 2021 on Amazon Prime Video. However, the precise dates have not been revealed yet.
