Amit Trivedi, Ajay-Atul, Badshah & Tanishk Bagchi, Sachin Tendulkar, Madhuri Dixit and Varun Dhawan will also make an appearance at the event.
Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Kiara Advani and Janhvi Kapoor are among the many Bollywood stars that will be seen at the Global Citizen Live event on 25 September.
Global Citizen, in partnership with Wizcraft, has recently announced the line-up, which will be broadcasted on ZEE channel on TV and the OTT platform, ZEE5.
Other Indian celebrities, who will feature in the campaign to address climate change in developing countries, include Amit Trivedi, Ajay-Atul, Badshah, Tanishk Bagchi, Sachin Tendulkar, Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Sara Ali Khan, Dia Mirza, Farhan Akhtar, Hrithik Roshan, Ayushmann Khurrana, Bhumi Pednekar, and Varun Dhawan.
Anil Kapoor will host the event that will take place at Mumbai’s Gateway of India.
The campaign is an attempt to urge the world’s wealthiest nations, corporations, philanthropists, to deliver $100 billion annually to “defend the planet and defeat poverty, to take action on climate change, famine, and vaccine equity.” According to Rolling Stone, Global Citizen aims to end extreme poverty across the world by 2030.
Global Citizen and Wizcraft had previously hosted the 2016 edition of the campaign in Mumbai. The festival was headlined by Coldplay, and also featured performances from AR Rahman, Ranveer Singh, Demi Lovato, and Jay-Z.
Other cities that are a part of the worldwide event are Paris, New York, Paris, Lagos, Rio, Sydney. This edition will also feature Coldplay’s live performance, alongside BTS, Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, the Black Eyed Peas, Metallica, The Weeknd among others.
