This would be the first time an Indian reality show uses 3D technology and it will bring in a new perspective to the show, says the director.
The newest season of Amitabh Bachchan-hosted Kaun Banega Crorepati KBC 13 will be available to the viewers from August 23. The director of the show Arun Sheshkumar has promised that the show, which airs in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, will explore 3D and augmented reality.
"There is a lot of technology at play here," he tells Pinkvilla before revealing that the show will have augmented reality and be available in 3D. KBC 13 happens to be the first Indian reality show to explore 3D Technology. "We have got LEDs which are three-dimensional now to the naked eye, which is a technology that has never been used on Indian Television," Arun shared.
The director is sure that the show has new energy to it, which the audiences will connect to. Right from the vibrant colours of the stage to Amitabh Bachchan's hosting, the director says the audience's point of view will also be new towards the show.
Calling Amitabh Bachchan a 'perfectionist', Arun recalled how his journey with the megastar that began as a fan has evolved into a beautiful friendship. "He knows our families, us," the helmer remembered while talking about Big B fondly. He also spilled the beans about the two often getting involved in a lot of discussion backstage.
Amitabh Bachchan has hosted KBC for over a decade. He remains a favourite and irreplaceable host on the show. Shah Rukh Khan had stepped in to host KBC while Big B was committed to another project but the megastar was brought back on audiences' demand.
Senior Bachchan and KBC also have another special connection. Big B has once gone on record to say that the show saved him during his bankruptcy phase. Working on KBC and Mohabbatein with SRK helped the megastar bounce back to fame and stardom.
KBC 13 can be viewed on Sony TV. It can also be streamed on Sony Liv a day after the show airs on TV. However, the viewers can always participate in quizzes on the app as the show runs on the TV, which can help them win prize money with just a few clicks.
