PremiumAnimal: Producer Bhushan Kumar says we can expect to see a ‘violent Ranbir Kapoor’

Sandeep Reddy Vanga is back in the director’s chair yet again with his upcoming project, Animal. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor in the lead, and is backed by Bhushan Kumar. The producer recently opened up about what viewers can expect from Ranbir’s character in the film.
In a conversation with TOI, the producer revealed that viewers can expect to see Ranbir in a never-seen-before avatar in Animal. The title of the film refers to someone’s personality, he said, and it is not a film on any creature. “We can expect to see a violent Ranbir Kapoor,” added Bhushan. He mentioned that the film will go on floors in April.
The producer also said that filming is currently underway for Ranbir’s upcoming, yet-to-be-titled film with Luv Ranjan, and the makers are hoping to wrap it up by May or June.
It was recently reported that Parineeti Chopra had exited Animal, and Pinkvilla stated that Rashmika Mandanna has now been roped in to play the female lead. The report added that the latter would portray Ranbir’s wife in the film, although an official announcement regarding the development is yet to be made. The film will also feature Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol in pivotal roles.
Director Sandeep had recently also cleared the air regarding queries that Ranbir’s character is similar to Arjun Reddy or Kabir Singh, the latter two helmed by Sandeep. The filmmaker denied any similarities between them, and stated that Animal is ‘a completely different film’. He did, however, add that if there were any similarities, it would be because they are all ‘character-driven stories’.
