Director Anup Bhandari, who earned critical acclaim with both of his films Rangi Taranga and Raja Ratha, will face the biggest test of his career with Vikrant Rona, which releases in 3D. The film headlined by Sudeep also stars Nirup Bhandari, Neetha Ashok, Jacqueline Fernandez and others to name a few. Vikrant Rona, produced by Shalini Jack Manju and Alankar Pandian, hits theatres across multiple languages on July 28. The team was in Hyderabad to promote the film's Telugu version earlier this week.
"Akkinenis have played a great role in my life, though the admiration has been one-sided. Geethanjali was the first ever Telugu film I watched and I remember falling in love with it. The sight of Nagarjuna holding a cycle chain in Shiva impacted me so much and I'm so glad that the man who made him hold it (Ram Gopal Varma) is also here amidst us. It's good to see Akhil come and support us," director Anup Bhandari said.
"The post-production work of both of my films, Rangi Taranga and Raja Ratha, were wrapped up in Hyderabad. Most of Vikrant Rona's sets were constructed in Annapurna Studios, Hyderabad. Nagarjuna sir was one of the first people to be impressed by our work on film when he watched the footage. Ever since, he has been a great support for Vikrant Rona and has talked about it extensively," he added.
Expressing his gratitude to the film's crew and the event attendees, the filmmaker shared, "I'm thankful to Vijayendra Prasad sir for his presence here; he's a bible for screenwriting in Indian cinema. Mangli, who sang the Telugu version of Rakkamma, is also here. I am grateful to my producers, stunt master Vijay and the Telugu distributor here as well. Whatever I've had to say to Sudeep sir, I've told him personally and this film wouldn't have been possible without him."
