While the Bengali community is immersed in the Pohela Baishak’s festivity, Anupama actor Rupali Ganguly seems to not have a respite from her busy work schedule. Pohela Boishakh marks the end of the Boishakh month and is celebrated with great fervour across West Bengal, however, this time Ganguli has been working on the day of the festivity.
In between her shots, Ganguli spoke to The Times of India and confirmed the news that she is indeed busy. Reminiscing on the memories of the past, she shared that whenever she used to visit her home for this auspicious occasion, the whole family would gather. They would have a gala time together and would binge upon some delicious Bengali lunch or dinner.
The cuisine would include mouth-watering food like ‘luchi, macher jhol, payesh, torkari’ etc. However, this year, Rupali wasn’t at home to partake in the family festivities.
Ganguly was clearly upset about the fact that she couldn’t visit her family this year on the occasion of Pohela Baishak. Nonetheless, braving a positive outlook towards it, she said that she began the day by offering prayers to the almighty.
For Rupali, new beginnings and festivities have always been about the divine and she never fails to remember and offer prayers to him before embarking on it. She excitedly spoke about the happy moments she used to cherish with her family and confessed that she really misses Bengali food.
Expressing her love for the delicacies, she said that, out of all, she misses ‘Bhoger Khichuri’ the most. ‘Bhoger Khichuri’, along with tomato chutney, ‘payesh’, ‘chanar torkari’ and ‘begun bhaja’ are among Rupali’s favourites.
“Just give them to me and I’m the happiest,” she exclaimed!
Rupali later asserted that she looks forward to a lot of positivity and happiness this new year and hopes that her show ‘Anupama’ keeps touching people’s hearts like it has been doing so far.
Rupali will next be seen in Anupama - Namaste America, which will stream on Disney+ Hotstar on April 25.
