Anupamaa: Anupama locks horns with Vanraj and Baa for Kinjal

When Anupamaa started off, almost all viewers shared a seething hatred for Vanraj, who had made Anupama’s life miserable. But these days, audiences are getting to see a softer, more vulnerable side to the character, as he fights to keep his family from breaking apart.

The last episode saw Paritosh in hysterics as he tries to convince Kinjal and Pari to come back to the Shah’s, to no avail. Unable to see his son go through such hard times, Vanraj is seen at his most vulnerable yet as he tries to think up ways to help Paritosh, despite being fully aware that his son is in the wrong. And after Baa gives him some regressive advice in the guise of well wishing, Vanraj decides to go to the Kapadia house to talk to Kinjal once more.

Despite the drama, Anuj and Anupamaa seemed to be as strong as ever, weathering the storm with the support they got from each other. Although Anuj is as understanding as ever of Anupama’s plight, he does tell her how important it is to draw boundaries, to prevent more of the drama from entering into their lives. But when the Shahs are near, drama is never far away, and Anupama finds herself in a predicament when Vanraj and Baa come to her house.

The duo do their best to convince Kinjal to come back, assuring the new mother that she does not have to forgive Paritosh at all, and assures her that she will be treated well. Listening to the two talk, Anupama is reminded of how they used the same kind of talk to try and convince her to stay in a miserable situation years ago, and decides to intervene to protect Kinjal.

Vanraj seethes at Anupama’s intervention, and the episode ends with the two locking horns with each other, as Kinjal is left with a tough decision to make.
