AR Rahman's composition Kannethirey from Parthiban's Iravin Nizhal out

Kannethirey, the single from Parthiban's upcoming film Iravin Nizhal is out on YouTube. Lyrics for the song are by Parthiban himself and the song is sung by Sarthak Kalyani and Hiral Viradia. The song has been composed by AR Rahman. 

Parthiban's much-awaited Iravin Nizhal is all set to hit screens on June 24. The running time for the film spans 100 minutes and it was filmed uniquely in a single shot. The screenplay of single shot films have been spun based on upcoming or linear events in a story but, Iravin Nizhal (Shadow of the Night) is said to be the world's first non-linear single-shot feature film. Parthiban, who is eagerly awaiting the release of the film, dropped an audio message on his social media page today, " For some people, status means a house, bungalow or a car. In my case, it's the whistle, applause and praise for work. My dream now is the way you will be praising Iravin Nizhal after watching the film, " he said.

Speaking at the audio launch of the film earlier, Rahman had said that it was Parthiban's passion for filmmaking that got him on board. Speaking at the launch, Rahman had said, "Parthiban and I were supposed to team up for a film titled Elelo, but that didn't materialise. When he approached me to score the music for Iravin Nizhal, I found the concept of non-linear single shot extremely interesting and got on board." 

Rahman also visited the set to observe the way the film was being made. "The set resembled a mini theatre and it was interesting to watch, the way everything was rehearsed before the actual shot. I think with this film, Parthiban has set an example for future generations."

Cinematography for Iravin Nizhal is by Wilson and for the editing, Parthiban has roped in Academy Award winner Craig Mann of Whiplash fame. Art direction is by RK Vijai Murugan. The star cast for the film comprises Parthiban, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Robo Shankar, Priyanka Ruth, Brigida Saga, Sneha Kumar, Anand Krishnan and Chandru. Academy Award winner Cottalango Leon has handled the VFX.
