The film is written by Ravikiran Kola and directed by Vidhya Sagar Chinta
In stark contrast to actor Vishwak Sen's recent film appearances as a toughie, he'll be undergoing an image makeover and play a shy, 30s something youngster Arjun Kumar Bellam in his seventh film, titled Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam. The first glimpse of the film being directed by Vidhya Sagar Chinta was released on Saturday. Bapineedu and Sudheer Edara are jointly producing the film whose shoot commenced in the city recently. The sneak peek into the film is as interesting it can get!
Dressed in his formals, awkwardly introducing himself as Arjun Kumar, the character (played by Vishwak Sen) in the glimpse shares, "I've already started to lose hair. I'm over 30. I guess I have a belly too. I'm unable to find matches of girls belonging to my caste (whispers). Could you recommend any names for me? There are no obligations from my end. I don't even want a dowry. My name is Arjun...Arjun Kumar Allam. I'll share all my details with you. Please do the needful." The glimpse ends with a district bus passing by a bridge and the film's title is revealed as Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam.
This is a much-needed transformation for Vishwak Sen, who was increasingly getting stereotyped to play the role of an aggressive youngster in most of his recent outings, be it Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi, Falaknuma Das or the recently released Paagal. It's heartening to see a leading producer like BVSN Prasad back a team full of youngsters. Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam is written by Ravikiran Kola, with cinematography by Pavi K Pavan and music by Jai Krish. Pravalya Duddupudi is on board as the production designer. The makers are hoping to release the film in theatres.
